A recent article from http://www.edie.net/news/news_story.asp?id=18230 explains Mouchel, a Consulting and Business Services Group have strengthened their position as a leading supplier of expertise to the UK Water Sector with four major Asset Management Programme (AMP5) contract wins.
The industry’s five year AMP5 investment period, from April 2010 to Mar 2015, will see an estimated 15 billion pounds spent on capital investment. The article on the above website went on to explain that Mouchel's recent wins included South West Water, Wessex Water, and Yorkshire Water Services and join its ongoing United Utilities work and serve to build upon the group's strong standing in the sector following extensive involvement during previous AMP investment rounds.
Mouchel's Engineering & Environment division put together the winning bid - the first time the consultant has provided capital design services to the water company - and a new team, based in Bristol, will service the contract.
Dependent upon performance, there may be opportunities to extend the services of the best performing workstream teams into AMP6.
Continuing its success, Mouchel has also signed an AMP5 framework contract with United Utilities (UU) who Mouchel has worked with since 2003, and will now extend that partnership to 2015 on the Process Partner framework contract.
The latest win for Mouchel is with Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) Ltd, which plans to invest £1.9 billion during AMP5. It has appointed the group to provide specialist modelling consultancy services under its Drainage Area Planning framework.
Drainage Area Planning provides an overview of the needs within a catchment area and develops an approach to solve the issues identified. The work involves a strategic and detailed review of drainage assets and the targeting of investment to upgrade the asset base in accordance with regulatory and environmental drivers, in order to support serviceability targets. These studies provide a forward-looking programme for both capital and operational investment programmes.
Yorkshire Water's Drainage Area Planning programme will also require Mouchel to investigate multi-stakeholder flooding and environmental issues associated with Surface Water Management Plans and Water Framework Directive drivers.
“Adding these major wins to Mouchel's growing water pipeline for the next five years is a great achievement" said Tom Rowe, Mouchel's Operating Group Director for Engineering and Environment.

Waste Management Industry News.

A recent article from www.waste-management-world.com reveals by the year 2012 in Hanoi won't be able to accept more waste, and with the low ratio of land per capita, Vietnam will have to consider burning waste instead.
The Vietnamese government has allowed 18 industrial zones and high tech zones to be developed in Hanoi, as well as 13 small and medium industrial parks with thousands of industrial workshops.
Dr Nguyen Huy Nga, Director of the Vietnamese Environment Management Agency, operating under the Ministry of Health, agrees that it is necessary to apply modern technologies such as incineration.
According to him, the hazardous medical waste volume is about 40 tons per day, and the figure is forecast to be double by 2020. If no proper solution is applied to treat the waste, the hazardous waste will do harm to people's health.

When I first received a call from Nick Barker I have to admit I thought “Here We Go Another Recruitment Consultant that will Promise the Earth and then be a Total Waste of Time”

However Nick’s professional and dedicated approach soon won me over and showed me that he was different from the many recruitment consultants I had previously had the misfortune of dealing with.

I have been working on my job-search activities for around six months, during this time I have experienced the services of numerous recruitment agencies, this document represents a comparison of yourself and Blackrock with your competition.

I applied for a position as you are aware, unusually, you made initial contact with me on the same day, normally, I have had to wait weeks for anything other than an automated e mail response from other agencies.

Following our initial contact you arranged to hold a telephone interview, this I felt was a very thorough process, undoubtedly structured against the brief form your client, however, I was impressed in by the way a great deal of focus was placed on what I wanted for the future as an individual. This after all is a significant issue for a company recruiting for senior positions within the market place.

After successfully completing the telephone interview, I received very detailed information from you on how and what to prepare for the meeting with the company, some advise on how to present myself as an individual, and how to follow up both with yourselves and with the company after the meeting. This attention to detail along with the extensive one on one telephone communication undertaken during the exercise, ensured that not only did you identify and put forward a high caliber of potential candidates (as acknowledged by your Client) in their feedback to you, you also took the time to help your candidates to prepare for the meeting, remember, these individuals may not have been in an interview situation for many years, this attention to detail helps to set you apart from many of your direct competitors.

As you are aware, I have been successful in securing a position with a local Aerospace Manufacturing Company, I suspect that my twenty years experience within the industry was a major influence on my success, earlier this year I was told by another agency, that my application would not be progressed because the client required a person with aerospace experience, perhaps it is me who is missing the plot!!
